Is ice skating good as an exercise to form a good body figure?

Well,I don't like working out in the workout salon of our college and the first exercise type I ever liked is ice skating.I tried it last afternoon and skated for 1,5 hours.
Is the ice skating a good idea of exercising and forming hips and/or legs?or should I go and workout in workout salon and become bored and count every minute?

Ice skating is a great way to get a leg work out. It works your entire leg because you are constantly having to use muscles to stabilize (maintain balance) and propel yourself. the balance required all throughout the exercise constantly works every single part of the lower body, including strengthening the ankles, working the inner and outer thigh muscles (hip), calves, your quads (the front of the top part of the leg), your hamstrings(the back part of the top half of the leg, below the butt and above the knee), and ESPECIALLY the butt! (have you ever seen a hockey player or ice skater that didn't have a nice butt?)
It sounds like the best part about skating for you is that you enjoy it, which means that you will actually WANT to do it. You won't have to fight to make yourself get out of bed to go run in the morning, or pay to go to a salon that you dread going to.
so don't be afraid to actually HAVE fun: take some friends and race (forwards AND backwards to make it even more interesting), play tag or play a game of "Limbo" on the ice. Try a friendly game of hockey, learn some ice skating moves, or dance to your favorite music. and get a GREAT workout in the process!

it is important to try and do more than just skate around if you are wanting to see any results. Whatever you do the day before, it should make you a little sore the morning after!
